I would say this is an excellent snapshot of Omar & The Howlers, They are a hard-working blues band from Austin, Texas. However, as is true for all bands from that part of the world, to simply label their music as `just blues’ would not be entirely fair. The best description that I’ve read is `Captain Beefheart/Howlin’ Wolf sings Creedence Clearwater,’ but if that doesn’t mean anything to you, then buy this album and find out more . . . it features new takes on tracks from many of the band’s previous albums, as well as some brand new songs.
